Mondieu Laboratoire

After an early breakfast of croissants and pretzels on the train to Bratislava, we were a little peckish by the time we got to the Old Town. Walking past the window of Mondieu Laboratoire and seeing a sign for chocolate coffee, we had to pop in.

As soon as we stepped in to the modern and hipster looking restaurant the smell of chocolate hit us, There was an actual tap, with warm chocolate flowing from it. Oh.My.Goodness.

We sat to have our coffees and then saw how yummy the menus were and decided to eat. Vegan, gluten-free, clean eating - with a bit of chocolate thrown in for good measure.

White and Milk Chocolate Coffee

In a moment of healthy madness, I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon, pickles and dill mayonnaise. This yummy little dish was full of flavour and textures and the cutlery was tied up in a neat bow. This balanced meal was filling and delicious and I wasn't even jealous of Rob's Goat's Cheese Salad.

Now the exciting part, they had a station to make your own chocolate ice-cream! Unfortunately, we didn't because it was rather chilly however we did sit really close to the station (as you can see from Rob sitting in the background). The smell from the magical chocolate waterfall was delicious and ever so tempting. I definteley want to go back to Bratislava...even if it's just for a bespoke ice-cream.
